It appears Heaven has wrested from Koko the questionable accolade of “Ruiner of Gigs”, and not even Ratatat could escape its inherent awfulness. Compared to the joyous dance party at Cargo (a venue that’s not generally known for its enthusiastic and non-pretentious audiences), I felt I was watching the normally brilliant indie/electronic duo in a morgue – and a morgue with bad acoustics at that. I actually spent most of the set at the back of the room reading the Economist; that’s how bored I was. Most disappointing set of the year.
