BLACK COUNTRY NEW ROAD (London Shepherd’s Bush Empire, 11/10/23)

I’ve struggled to get to grips with much of Black Country New Road's post-Isaac material, but I’m glad to report this show went a long way in resolving that. Yes, there’s still some filler, but the latter half of the set came precariously close to recapturing the magic of the “old” days and the epic piano ballad ‘Turbines/Pigs’, always the strongest of the new fare deservedly received one of the most enthusiastic receptions I’ve seen a single song in a very long time.
