CLAP YOUR HANDS SAY YEAH (London Servant Jazz Quarters, 08/02/24)

Having properly started getting into "alternative" music around 2004/2005, I'm now faced with the terrifying spectre of The 20-Year Anniversary of bands I still mentally consider 'fresh' and 'hip'. Anyway, I loved (and continue to love) Alec Ounsworth's weird, off-kilter indie-rock, and these stripped-down piano versions at the intimate Servant Jazz Quarters were a treat to experience. And having actually reviewed the band's first official UK gig for my student paper back in the day, let's just say Alec has evolved *leaps and bounds* as a performer since then.
