SAMUEL J HERLIHY (London St Pancras Old Church, 11/12/25)

Solo endeavours by my favourite artists tend to fill me with trepidation (God forbid we ever get Win Butler's divorce-themed reggaeton album), but this was an engaging debut performance by the Hope of the States frontman - loquacious, dark humoured piano ballads that were quite a long way from the sturm und drang of his main band. (Though we did get 'Enemies/Friends' at the end!)
