SIGUR ROS (London Royal Albert Hall, 30/09/25)

Like last year, I found the first part of Sigur Ros' orchestral concert quite sophorific, albeit with moments of the stunning beauty you'd expect from the Icelandic post-rockers. But then the second half featured the unexpected live debut of "Ara Batur", one of my absolute all-time favourite pieces of music, with the London Contemporary Orchestra, a children's choir and the Albert Hall pipe organ and my Lord, it was one of those moments that make you glad to be alive. (And then they followed up with "Hoppipolla", which also made me cry a bit). Big thanks to my pal Ian for the ticket!
