WON IL (London Royal Festival Hall, 14/11/25)

An interesting if not entirely successful evening experiencing Won Il's take on the Dionysus myth, capturing both joy and violence in this shamanistic piece scored by 14 musicians melding traditional Korean sounds with electronics. A shame the dancer at the heart of the original work was unavailable, as the piece did feel it was missing something.
