A TRIBUTE TO DAMO SUZUKI (London Merton Arts Space, 28/06/25)
The late Japanese-born, German-based Can frontman and improvisional vocalist was more influential than famous, so it was a pleasant surprise he received a proper commemoration of his legacy. His widow Elke Morsbach read excerpts from her book about their life together, whilst three "soundcarriers" provided a suitably eclectic soundtrack- Azzure's dub-rock, Tian (AKA Jah Wobble and Sons) using traditional Chinese instruments to great effect and Japanese psych legends Bo Ningen pushing the capabilities of Merton Arts Centre's PA system to its absolute limits.
